Processor: AMD FX™-8120 Eight-Core Processor (8 CPUs), ~3.1GHz Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6002) Service Pack 2 (6002.vistasp2_gdr.110617-0336) I would very much appreciate any help anyone could offer. I see videos on youtube of how smooth it could be, and it almost makes me cry This is irritating me because, I see people running FNV with similar machines at 60+ FPS. I've tried the ds9 dll, I've tried the 4gb executable (which I don't think worked because whenever I loaded the game with it it made no difference and in addition to that, said it could not find NVSE) and I've tried messing around with the ini files, doing 'tweaks' but it persists - 5-12 FPS near NPC's and action, 30 maximum capped on 'good' times. In the Fallout Default Ini file, iFPS clamp is set to zero, so I don't see why it does not go above 30. I also noticed on good days, the FPS is capped at 30, and I don't know why. I also thought all that processing power and ram would make things better, but it hasn't. Now, I know my video card is bad by today's standards, but it is well above the 'minimum' recommended by the game, and well beyond the 'recommended' one too. In my game, with no mods or plugins loaded, I get very low FPS consistently, in the 20-30 range, and with NPC's or a lot of action, it falls to 5-12 FPS and is basically unplayable outside of VATS. I am on Windows Vista 64 SP2, using DirectX 11. I recently did an upgrade of my system, I now have an AMD 64 FX Bulldozer Eight Core 3.3Ghz and 16GB DDR3 Corsair Ram, an admittedly obsolete video card in the form of a Radeon ATI HD 3870 512MB and a Seagate Barracuda 7200 500GB hard drive. OK, I am having this extremely annoying problem that is bugging me beyond belief.
